Videography
Two Cameras, One Point of View
Depending of the place and the vibe I want, I record with either my old Nikon D90 or a Panasonic Lumix compact 4K camera. One is softer and more nostalgic, the other sharper and more detailed — but both have a slightly imperfect, retro feel that I love.
The Nostalgic One.
My Nikon D90 comes from the very beginning of DSLR video — and it looks like it.
Don't expect crystal-clear 4K. Expect something softer, grainier and a little imperfect. Footage with a cinematic, nostalgic quality that can almost feel like it was pulled from another decade.
I especially love using it for short-form and vertical content, where its imperfections become part of the look. Think less polished production, more captured memory.
The Sharper One.
When I want videos with a little more clarity, I switch to my compact 4K camera.
It gives me a sharper, more detailed image while still keeping the slightly retro, atmospheric look I’m drawn to. I particularly like using it for horizontal video, where there’s more room for the surroundings, small details and movement to become part of the frame.
Still full of character — just with a little more clarity.
